St. John's Park Baptist Church began on May 30, 1926
with 13 men and women. It was known as the Sharpe
Memorial Baptist Church.
In 1928 the name was changed to Euclid Avenue
Baptist Church and again in 1947 the name was changed
to St. Johns Park Baptist Church.
The church has sponsored two mission churches.
Hyde Park Baptist Church, constituted in 1952 and Crystal
Springs Baptist Church in 1993.
The first auditorium was constructed in 1957.
Several houses have been purchased over the years
and used for class rooms. Some have been removed for
parking spaces. The two story educational building was built
in 1961 and the Sanctuary/Office/Preschool building in 1973.
